Sandra Britz (+ MaggZ, Johanna Invrea, Antonia Gangi, Felix Neumann): Volatile

The project VOLATILE which was initiated by Melbourne-based movement and multidisciplinary artist MaggZ, explores the process of rapid deterioration and the return of homeostasis. The theme emerges from the experience of being in isolation during 2020, when humankind went through both internal and external turmoil as a collective, in the cycle of volatility: from initial decline, through deterioration, to peak deterioration before a return to homeostasis. 

During the first digital residency of collide24, MaggZ, Sandra Britz, Antonia Gangi, Johanna Invrea and Felix Neumann played with the intertwinement—and contrariety—between nature and technologies, real-life and digital tales. The resulting work addresses the romantic worldview, the meaning of human existence in the universe, and trying to find our inner oasis in isolation.

Sandra Britz

Sandra Britz is an artist and designer working in the fields of graphic and motion design. Her work features a mix of carefully selected textures and colors that show the subject matter of the various works through an unconventional approach. Although the workflow is mostly experimental, the finished designs are rooted in a fascination with the subject, research and a very conceptual approach.

MaggZ

MaggZ is a Naarm-based queer Chinese movement artist, creative director and producer. Traversing amongst street dance battles, performances, creative direction and producing, MaggZ’s practice centres agency aspiringing to honour the authentic living experience through transdisciplinary collaboration

Johanna Invrea

Johanna Invrea is a visual artist. Since 2015, she has created work that blends video and digital art, computer graphic, photography, and sculpture. With these media and through a specific interest in the human body, she has been exploring the connection between real and virtual worlds and their points of collapse.

Antonia Gangi

Poetry and mixed media artist motivated by social impact and positive discourse. I like to combine media fragments and archival footage with contrasting contemporary words to challenge what we see and what we think we know.

Felix Neumann

Felix Neumann aka seebelieveproduce [SBP] works as an Art-director, Artist and Designer. His projects are defined by a generation that is paying in attention and characterized by a synergy of design, art, CGI, motion, development, typography and interdisciplinary collaborations.
