Lena Charobay: Occulta Muscas
Elena Charobay is a London-based digital artist who showcases her personal work in galleries worldwide. Over the past two years, her exhibitions have graced venues in Austria, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Hong Kong, the UAE, and the UK.
In 2021, Charobay presented "Occulta Muscas," an immersive exploration of bacterial organisms transformed into futuristic life forms. The exhibition's title refers to the hidden presence of these microscopic entities that silently shape our daily lives.
At "Occulta Muscas" the audience is mesmerised by three distinct life forms navigating the digital canvas. As the camera attempts to capture them, the digital creatures evade focus, distorting into abstract shapes. Charobay's minimalistic composition and vibrant colours echo the spirit of Kandinskiy's "Sky Blue," yet combine a futuristic and modern aesthetic.
For Charobay, art is a symbiotic fusion of technology and nature. She makes use of graphic software experimentation and craftwork, exploring new textures and life forms. While embracing the digital world as a canvas for artistic and scientific experimentation, Charobay is eager to collaborate with scientists and explore new materials and objects.
Charobay's main ambition is to bridge art and science, collaborating with academic institutions and companies to pioneer groundbreaking research. Through her art, she seeks to raise awareness of environmental issues and inspire more positive action.
As Charobay's journey unfolds, her commitment to art as a tool for environmental advocacy stands as a beacon of hope, guiding us towards a more sustainable future.
